Oehler Ballistic Explorer
Solves trajectories from live conditions instead of a printed drop table, and compares three scenarios side by side on one graph.
Ballistic Explorer is for anyone who needs a trajectory for the conditions in front of them, not the conditions a printed table assumed. It pairs industry-standard drag tables with a modern solver and recomputes bullet behavior from the actual temperature, altitude, barometric pressure, wind and shooting angle. Up to three scenarios run at once and overlay on one graph. The library holds over 4,000 bullets with profile drawings and over 2,350 factory loads from the major ammunition makers, and you can store your own loads and range results. Used with a System 88 or System 89, the measured ballistic coefficient feeds back into the model, so predictions converge on your actual rifle and load rather than a catalog figure. Output covers bullet path, velocity, energy, momentum and wind drift, exportable to Excel, PDF or text. The software ships with System 88 and System 89.
Overview
A drop table freezes one set of conditions. Change the temperature, the altitude or the wind and its numbers become approximations. Ballistic Explorer solves in real time instead: enter the temperature, altitude, pressure, wind and shooting angle you actually have, and it computes the trajectory for that case. Three scenarios can be solved together and overlaid, so the effect of switching bullets or climbing 1,000 meters is visible at a glance without flipping between tables. The built-in library covers over 4,000 bullets with profile drawings and over 2,350 factory loads from major manufacturers; custom loads and your own measured results can be saved alongside them. This is where the software ties into Oehler's measurement line. Bring the ballistic coefficient measured by a System 88 or System 89 back into the program and the prediction converges on the real rifle and load instead of a nominal value. Outputs include bullet path, velocity, energy, momentum and wind drift tables, exportable as Excel, PDF or text, with six standard sight adjustment units and up to ten custom units.

Features
Three scenarios solved and compared
Overlaid graphs make the effect of a different bullet or a different environment obvious at once.
Full environmental correction
Temperature, altitude, pressure, wind and shooting angle all enter the solution instead of a fixed table.
1,960+ bullets, 2,350+ factory loads
Bullets come with profile drawings and published G7 ballistic coefficients; common factory loads need no manual entry.
Cross-checked against measured BC
Feed in ballistic coefficients measured by a System 88 / 89 and the model converges on your actual rifle and load.
Export to Excel / PDF / text
Prints in color or black and white; data drops straight into an existing report workflow.
Software screens and applications

Scenarios · COMPARE
Three scenarios on one graph
Solve three trajectories at once and overlay them; the difference from a new bullet, altitude or wind reads straight off the plot.
Output · TABLES
Bullet path and energy tables
Tables for bullet path, velocity, energy, momentum and wind drift, in six standard sight adjustment units or up to ten custom units.

Library · DATABASE
1,960+ bullets with profile drawings
Over 1,960 bullets from the major makers plus over 2,350 factory loads, with room for custom loads and measured results.
R&D
Development and load validation
Comparing loads, bullet profiles and barrel conditions only works when the measurement system's own uncertainty is far smaller than the differences under test.
