PFA-127
CW and pulsed RF power and frequency analyzer to 27 GHz: one instrument in place of a peak/average power meter and a frequency analyzer.
PFA-127 is Pendulum's new instrument, announced in September 2026. It builds on the award-winning CNT-100 multi-channel frequency analyzers and measures RF frequency, power, pulse width and PRI in parallel and gap-free in one box. The RF channel covers 15 GHz as standard and unlocks to 20 or 27 GHz by software license, and a 2-channel 400 MHz time interval analyzer with 14 ps resolution (7 ps optional) is built in.
Overview
PFA-127 puts a 27 GHz microwave frequency analyzer and an RF peak/average power meter in the same instrument, and tracks frequency and power against time side by side on the graphic screen at up to 20 MSa/s, with sample intervals down to 50 ns. For pulsed RF it analyzes pulse width, PRI, frequency in pulse and power in pulse in real time, including pulse-to-pulse variation, and zero dead time means no event is missed. That makes it a fit for frequency-hopping signals and for FM, PWM, FSK, BPSK and AM modulation work. Power range is -30 to +30 dBm with 0.01 dB resolution in a 1 µs gate; typical CW power accuracy at room temperature is ±0.5 dB (2σ) from 1.5 to 15 GHz and ±0.8 dB (2σ) across the full range. The built-in 2-channel 400 MHz baseband analyzer shares the RF time scale, so baseband events can be correlated with RF behavior, and a baseband signal up to 400 MHz can be verified in parallel with an RF signal up to 27 GHz on channel C. In production, one PFA-127 replaces a frequency counter and a power meter, or a far more expensive spectrum analyzer, and block measurements over Ethernet at up to 170k samples/s shorten ATE test time. Pendulum targets high-speed radar, microwave components, wireless telecom and general R&D.

Features
Power meter and frequency analyzer in one
RF frequency and power are measured in parallel in the same instrument, replacing a peak/average power meter and a frequency analyzer and saving cost and rack space.
Real-time pulsed RF analysis
Pulse width, PRI, frequency in pulse and power in pulse are measured as they happen, with pulse-to-pulse analysis for radar and pulsed RF component verification.
Modulation domain analysis at 20 MSa/s
Sample intervals down to 50 ns capture frequency hopping and fast FM, PWM, FSK, BPSK and AM changes in frequency and power, with pan, zoom and cursor read-out on the graphs.
2-channel 400 MHz time interval analyzer included
The baseband channels share the RF time scale, so you can correlate external arming events with RF pulse timing, or measure baseband and upconverted RF frequency side by side.
Frequency range grows by license
The standard 15 GHz model upgrades to 20 or 27 GHz at any time by software key. 7 ps resolution, pulse generator, TIE, frequency offset and ADEV graphing are software options as well.
Ready for automated test
Ethernet and USB are standard and GPIB is optional. Block measurements reach 170k samples/s, and the built-in web interface lets you operate the unit and download data locally or remotely.

Graphical display
Frequency and power on one screen
Results are shown numerically and graphically, with RF frequency and RF power displayed together. The same data set can be viewed as numbers, a distribution or a trend, and pan, zoom and cursor read-out show everything from slow drift to fast modulation.
