The Mi-Wave 410 Series is a right-angle adapter between rectangular waveguide and a coaxial connector. The 90-degree layout suits crowded test setups and rack integration where an in-line launch will not fit. Models run from X-band to W-band (8.2 to 110 GHz) with SMA, K (2.92 mm), 2.4 mm, 1.85 mm and 1.00 mm connectors, so lab measurement and OEM integration are both served. Overview

The 410 Series right-angle adapter carries a signal between a rectangular waveguide port and a standard coaxial connector, and shows up wherever a VNA, radar, SATCOM or 5G test bench has to join the two media. Coverage runs from X-band (8.2 GHz) to W-band (110 GHz) in WR-90 through WR-10, with typical insertion loss of 0.3 to 1.2 dB and return loss of 15 to 20 dB. Every model carries a UG flange on the waveguide side; on the coax side you can choose SMA, K (2.92 mm), 2.4 mm, 1.85 mm or 1.00 mm in either gender. A lower-cost production version is available for OEM quantities, and non-standard sizes or connector pairings can be made to order. When you specify an adapter, match the connector to the instrument port first, then check the power rating: the X-band N-female part is rated at 400 W while the mm-wave parts with precision connectors are rated at 10 W.

To measure S-parameters of a waveguide filter or attenuator at mm-wave, for example in W-band (75–110 GHz), the engineer uses a right-angle adapter to bring the DUT's rectangular port onto the analyzer's coaxial test port. The adapter resolves the mismatch between transmission media while keeping the path matched and its insertion loss low.

Radar and satellite communications

In a phased-array radar or earth-station front end, the right-angle adapter is the junction between the waveguide feed and a coaxial source or LNA, letting the routing turn vertically inside a tight enclosure. Ka-band (26.5–40 GHz) and higher aerospace and defense systems use it routinely.

A lab that must connect existing coaxial instruments, such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers, to new waveguide parts or antenna samples reaches for a right-angle adapter.
