SYSTEM 8 Analogue IC Tester (AICT)
24-channel in-circuit analog functional test that diagnoses board faults without a schematic
The SYSTEM 8 Analogue IC Tester (AICT) is the functional test module for analog integrated circuits and discrete components while they are still soldered to the PCB. Board comparison against a known-good unit and the Matrix V-I test give a clear pass or fail without a schematic, which is what shortens repair and diagnosis time. It belongs in electronics repair centers, production test and board-level fault-finding labs. Evencat is the authorized distributor for ABI Electronics in Taiwan.
Overview
The AICT provides 24 analog test channels and is the module in ABI's SYSTEM 8 diagnostic range dedicated to analog components. It functionally tests all common analog ICs and discrete components in-circuit, as they are configured on the board, so nothing has to be removed to verify it. The module carries the Matrix V-I test and a V-T (voltage-time) pulse test for gate-triggered devices such as triacs and SCRs. Using the widely adopted power-off V-I (voltage-current signature) technique, the AICT also tests analog and digital components of every kind and returns a definite pass or fail from a good-board comparison. It installs in a standard PC chassis with a CD-ROM bay or connects over USB to the external MultiLink chassis, so it fits either a fixed bench or a portable kit.

Features
24-channel in-circuit analog test
24 analog channels functionally test common analog ICs and discrete components soldered to the PCB, with no removal needed.
Matrix V-I test
The built-in Matrix V-I test compares pin characteristics by voltage-current signature and finds the abnormal component fast.
V-T pulse test
A pulsed V-T test handles gate-triggered devices such as triacs and silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs).
Diagnosis without a schematic
Good-board comparison diagnoses a board without the original schematic and reports a clear pass or fail.
Power-off V-I signature analysis
The widely used power-off V-I technique tests analog and digital components safely, with the board unpowered.
Flexible deployment over USB
Installs in a standard PC chassis with a CD-ROM bay, or connects to the external MultiLink chassis over standard USB.
Typical applications

Board repair
Identify a faulty analog IC in-circuit, no desoldering
The repair engineer compares the measured characteristics of on-board op-amps, comparators or linear regulators against the built-in IC library with the AICT, isolates the damaged part in seconds, and avoids the risk that comes with desoldering.
Aerospace and defense maintenance
Board-level analog verification for avionics and military systems
In aerospace repair stations and defense maintenance facilities (ABI cites users such as Collins Aerospace and the UK Ministry of Defence), technicians verify analog switches and voltage regulators on avionics control boards with the AICT and release the board only when every parameter is within specification, meeting strict traceability requirements.

Incoming inspection
Incoming inspection and counterfeit screening of analog ICs
Before assembly, R&D labs and electronics manufacturers sample-test purchased op-amps and linear regulators. The AICT measures the key parameters automatically and compares them with the reference library, catching out-of-spec parts and counterfeit devices before they reach the product.
