SYSTEM 8 Multiple Instrument Station (MIS 4)
Eight lab instruments in one USB module, controlled together from SYSTEM 8 software.
SYSTEM 8 Multiple Instrument Station (MIS 4) puts every instrument needed for component and board test into a single USB-driven module that installs in an ABI USB Multilink case or an existing PC. With SYSTEM 8 Ultimate PC software and TestFlow Manager sequencing the work, an engineer scopes, counts, generates and measures on one platform, and semi-skilled staff follow the same steps to run repeatable tests with fewer mistakes.
Overview
SYSTEM 8 Multiple Instrument Station (MIS 4) is ABI Electronics' integrated test platform: eight lab-grade instruments in one portable USB module, covering the full toolset for component and PCB test and measurement. Inside are a 3-channel 350MHz digital storage oscilloscope, a 1.1GHz frequency counter with three further 350MHz counters, a 14-bit 2-channel 25MHz arbitrary waveform function generator, and fully floating ammeter, voltmeter and ohmmeter. A multi-rail 4-channel power supply and eight programmable I/O channels round out the set. Every instrument is controlled from SYSTEM 8 Ultimate PC software, and the Windows TestFlow Manager sequences tests step by step so an operator is guided through troubleshooting or a test routine. MIS 4 installs in an ABI USB Multilink case or an existing PC and connects over USB to any compatible PC or laptop.

Features
Eight instruments in one
Oscilloscope, counters, waveform generator, meters, power supply and programmable I/O share one USB module, saving bench space and cost.
3-channel 350MHz oscilloscope
The built-in 3-channel 350MHz digital storage oscilloscope offers advanced trigger options and automatic measurements for signal analysis.
High-frequency counting and signal generation
A 1.1GHz frequency counter with three 350MHz counters, plus a 14-bit 2-channel 25MHz arbitrary waveform function generator.
TestFlow sequenced testing
SYSTEM 8 Ultimate software and the Windows TestFlow Manager run step-by-step sequences that guide the operator through troubleshooting and test.
Portable USB platform
Installs in an ABI USB Multilink case or an existing PC and connects over USB to any compatible PC or laptop for flexible deployment.
Fewer operator errors
Instructions, photos, PDFs and videos sit in the flow and results are compared automatically, so semi-skilled staff can run repeatable tests.
Typical applications

Production test
Automated final test on an electronics production line
Factories build SYSTEM 8 MIS 4 into the end-of-line functional test station for PCB controller boards. A semi-automated sequence in TestFlow Manager replaces the separate oscilloscope, digital multimeter and paper work instruction, guiding semi-skilled operators through the same measurements every time. After WEG, the Brazilian motor and drives maker, adopted it, the full test routine took 50% less time and the risk of passing bad boards on an operator's judgment was removed.
Repair diagnostics
Board troubleshooting and repair sign-off
Repair centers and after-sales departments use the oscilloscope, ohmmeter and programmable supply inside MIS 4 to locate faults on returned boards with power on or off. TestFlow records every measured value and instrument setting and produces a standard repair report, so the same board type gets the same sign-off procedure each time and nothing is missed when technicians change.

Development verification
Live debug and design verification of prototype boards
During prototype development, engineers use the 350MHz 3-channel digital storage oscilloscope, the 14-bit 2-channel 25MHz arbitrary waveform generator and the 4-channel programmable supply of MIS 4 to inject stimulus, measure timing and verify power stability at one workstation. Test settings and waveform captures are saved straight into the report for later design review and revision comparison.
